Sony asked us to showcase the camera on their new flagship smartphone. We made a sprawling short film about sci-fi cookery that took us from the top of the Olympic Mountains to monja-yaki joints all over Tokyo.
The Seahawks were skeptical, but then we showed the players the movie poster. What followed was a wild collaboration with Electric Coffin featuring a miniature Seattle skyline from an alternate universe, hand-drawn VFX, and retro-inspired costumed Kaiju.
The mandate was story forward, product light. With retro cinematic flair, we tell the story of Seattle artist Duffy’s obsession with an icon of American muscle: the Pontiac Trans Am.
